You know the ones I mean. This website would like to send you notifications. Erm….. no. I mean, has anyone ever clicked yes? On purpose? Why? You sicko.

The above is a good example of what we mean. Why on earth would I want push notifications from your website?

For all the sane people, here it is. A quick guide on how to disable website notification requests in our two favorite browsers, Chrome and Firefox. No more having to click block every single time. Cause they won’t appear in the first place! Yay!

Disable Website Notifications in Chrome

Paste chrome://settings/content/notifications into the address bar and hit enter. Now toggle the slider that says Ask before sending. Done.

How easy was that?

  • Paste about:preferences#privacy into your address bar.
  • Scroll down to notifications and click the settings button.
  • Tick the box that states Block new requests to allow notifications.
