This one is for all the ahem, older folk out there who remember the earlier days of the internet. Those who played classic flash games before they were, well, classic. Miniclip, Kongregate, ArmorGames, Newsgrounds etc. The list of flash games sites goes on and on. But it won’t for long. Flash is dying. Modern browsers are supporting them less and less. But worry not. If you want to get your fix of old games, we’re here to show you how.
Play over 36,000 Classic Flash Games
So what do you need to do to get your fix of classic flash games? Easy. Head over to the bluemaxima downloads by clicking this link.
From here you can download the full repository of games. Be warned though. It’s currently a 241 GB download! Eek! However, if this is too much, try the Flashpoint 7.1 Infinity. This is only a 300MB download and gives you the choice to select and download only the games you want, through their launcher.
I tested it out using Drag Racer V3. A classic flash game I used to play back in the day. I only downloaded the Flashpoint 7.1 Infinity files to grab the launcher. It doesn’t look pretty but that can be remedied easily by grabbing the 14GB download underneath Infinity that fills in all the missing artwork etc.
However, for me, I didn’t find it necessary. The functional look of the launcher worked fine for me.
As can be seen from above, the launcher is pretty simple. And if you can remember the names of the games, all you have to do is search and click them to download and play. However, you can also look through lists that have been curated by others if your memory is a little sketchy.
So to reiterate how to grab these games. Download the launcher, use 7zip to extract, go into the extracted folder and click on start flashpoint. Easy, simple and a safe way to play those classic flash games we all know and love.
But that’s not quite everything. Once you start the launcher, you can also see that you have additional support for shockwave, unity, java, html5 etc games too. All you have to do is download the module.
Right, off now to find all the old stickman games I loved.
